Clarkson's Farm (2021 – )

Clarkson's Farm is a 2021 British comedy documentary series directed by Gavin Whitehead. The film premiered on the Amazon Prime Video movie platform on 10 June 2021.

Clarkson's Farm is a humorous documentary series that follows the unusual, often chaotic, but extremely fascinating transformation of the popular TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson – from car enthusiast to farmer.

The story begins when Clarkson decides to take over the management of his own farm in the picturesque but unpredictable English county of Oxfordshire. After the long-time farmer who has cared for the land retires, Jeremy, with determination (and almost no practical experience), embarks on the agricultural adventure of a lifetime. He sets out not just to manage the farm, but to do it his way - with a dose of sarcasm, a rebellious spirit and lots and lots of confusion.

Each season of the series covers a full farming year, from plowing and sowing to harvesting and raising livestock. The cameras follow Clarkson as he grapples with the realities of hard farm work: unpredictable weather, breaking machinery, strict regulations and a ruthless nature. The situations range from comical (like trying to milk sheep with YouTube tutorials) to deeply moving, especially when it comes to environmental issues and the survival of small farms.

Clarkson is not alone in his endeavor - a colorful and likeable group of locals gathers around him. Caleb Cooper, a young and extremely straightforward tractor driver, quickly becomes a favorite of the audience with his honest reactions and unwavering opinion. Charlie, the businesslike agronomist, constantly tries to impose order and reality on the chaos of the farm. Lisa Hogan - Jeremy's partner, also gets involved in the management, and the funny builder Gerald contributes with his unique dialect and hard work.

The series combines humor, information, and social commentary. In addition to the funny incidents, Clarkson's Farm shows the harsh truth about how difficult and often undervalued the profession of farming is. Despite his initial blunders, Clarkson gradually becomes a true advocate for agriculture and its challenges.
