Togo (Togo) is a 2019 American biographical adventure film directed by Erickson Kor from a screenplay by Tom Flynn. The film premiered in the United States on December 20, 2019.
A historical film by American director Erickson Kor, which is dedicated to the events during the Great Charity Run (also known as The Serum Run to Nome; from English: Great Mercy Race) from 1925, in which diphtheria antitoxin was transported by a dog sled relay race across the lands of Alaska in the USA, consisting of nearly 150 dogs and 20 sled drivers, covering 674 miles over a period of over 5 days, saving the small town of Nome and nearby settlements from a developing diphtheria epidemic.
The events in the film tell the story of the leader Leonard Seppala (William Defoe) and his dog Togo, who together cover the longest leg of the relay, even though the dog was considered too small and weak to endure such an intense run.
