David (George Clooney) and Georgia (Julia Roberts) are a divorced couple of parents who can't stand each other, and travel to Bali together after their daughter Lily announces her plans to marry a local she met while on vacation on the island.
The two parents decide to put aside their differences and try to work together to stop the wedding, believing that in doing so they will protect Lily from a "deadly" mistake similar to their own.
