God's creatures (God's Creatures) is a 2022 British-American psychological drama film directed by Saela Davies and Anna Rose Holmer from a screenplay by Fodla Cronin O'Reilly and Shane Crowley. The film is set to be released in the United States on September 30, 2022.
The film tells the story of a mother who slowly realizes that her son is a dangerous sociopath. The mother, Eileen O'Hara (Emily Watson) immediately makes up an alibi for his son Baryan (Paul Mescal) before she is aware of the details of the crime he is accused of committing. This makes her either an accomplice in the crime or a deluded woman.
In a windswept fishing village, a mother is torn between her desire to protect her son and her own sense of right and wrong. The lie she tells about him tears apart her family and a close-knit community in this tense and deeply emotional drama.
