The Eternaut (2025 – )

The Eternaut is a 2025 Argentine adventure fantasy action series film based on the novel of the same name by Héctor Herman Ostereld and Francisco Solano López. The film premiered on the Netflix movie platform on April 30, 2025.

The story takes place in Buenos Aires when an unusual and deadly snowstorm suddenly covers the city, killing anyone who comes into contact with the snowflakes. The main character, Juan Salvo (Ricardo Darin), along with a group of survivors, faces the challenge of surviving in this new apocalyptic world. They soon discover that the toxic snowfall is just the first wave of an attack by an alien force that is planning an invasion of Earth. Survival requires unity and a fight against an invisible enemy.

The series is directed and created by Bruno Stagnaro, who also co-wrote the script with Ariel Staltari. It is produced by K&S Films in collaboration with Netflix. Filming took place in over 35 real locations in Buenos Aires and included over 25 virtual production sets, making the series one of the most ambitious television productions in Argentina.

The series promises to offer a compelling story of survival, resistance, and human will in the face of an alien threat.
