Super Troopers 3

Super Patrol 3 (Super Troopers 3) is a 2026 American comedy crime film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar from a screenplay by Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Eric Stolanske. The film is set for a US release on August 7, 2026.

„Super Patrol 3“" is the long-awaited sequel to the cult comedy series created by the comedy group Broken Lizard. The film brings back the familiar team of wacky police officers in a new, even more absurd situation, striving to capture the spirit of the 2001 original. More than two decades after the first film and eight years after the second part, the third sequel bets on nostalgia, but also on escalating chaos and even more eccentric humor.

The story this time revolves around Farva – the most chaotic member of the team – whose engagement to Thorney’s sister quickly spirals out of control. What should be a festive event turns into a series of ridiculous situations, conflicts and disastrous decisions. In parallel, the squad finds itself involved in an investigation into a new and dangerous drug cartel. Thus, the film combines two main plot engines – the personal drama surrounding the wedding and the typical „police“ mission for the series, which inevitably turns into a farce. The characters have to balance between sabotaging the wedding, uncovering a criminal scheme and their own tendency to nonsense. As before, the plot does not strive for logic, but for maximum comedic effect.

Jay Chandrasekhar stays true to the series' style - fast-paced, improvisational humor and scenes built around absurd situations. The director doesn't try to modernize the formula too much, but rather to amp it up - more chaos, more ridiculous dialogue and a larger scale of comedy. The film clearly relies on fans who are already familiar with this type of humor.

Jay Chandrasekhar with Thorney once again the leader of the group – confident, but often absurd in his decisions.
Kevin Heffernan as Farva is the center of the comedy – a loud, aggressive, and completely unpredictable character who drives much of the plot.
Steve Lemay (Mac), Paul Soter (Foster) and Eric Stolhanske (Rabbit) form the classic team dynamic – each with their own specific type of humor.
Brian Cox as Captain O'Hagan adds sarcastic weight and contrast to the chaos around him.
Among the new additions, the following stand out: Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford and Hannah Simone, which bring fresh energy and expand the world of the film.

„Super Patrol 3“" doesn't try to be anything different - and that's exactly its strength. It's a clean, unpretentious comedy that relies on absurdity, nostalgia and the chemistry between the actors. The film probably won't win over a new audience, but for fans of the series it offers exactly what they expect - more of the same, but in larger doses. If you like idiotic but sincere comedies, this is a title you'll like.
