The sinister Trade Federation, led by Newt Gunray, plans to conquer the peaceful world of Naboo. Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) are sent to confront the leaders. However, not everything goes according to plan. The two Jedi escape and, together with their new friend Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), head to Naboo to warn Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), but the droids have already begun their conquest of the planet and the queen is not safe on it.

They land on Tatooine, where they befriend a young boy known as Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd). Qui-Gon Jinn is curious about the boy and sees a bright future for him. The group must find a way to reach Coruscant and resolve this trade conflict, but someone else is lurking in the shadows.

Are the Sith really an extinct species? Is the Queen really who she says she is? And what is so special about this boy?
