Bastien (Cyril Gane) is a retired MMA fighter who experiences a terrible event - during a final match, he accidentally kills Enzo, Emma's husband and Leo's father. Three years later, Emma (Anne Azoulay) discovers that her son has disappeared after a tragic accident. Forced by circumstances, she consults Bastien, who has been working in a salt mine for years and lives in isolation. In search of Leo, the two, along with policewoman Kenza (Alisa Belaydi), face off against a dangerous Marseille gangster network.
The film features a series of high-energy fight scenes—in the club, on the street, in a mine. The director avoids unnecessary effects and quick defocusing, opting for clear, wide shots that emphasize Cyril Gane's physical strength. His emotional scenes against Leo are delicate and show an inner conflict between guilt and a desire for redemption.
KO is a dynamic, powerful and sometimes startlingly explosive action film that many will appreciate for its fight scenes and charismatic Gane.
