Prey е FPS action adventure game developed by Arkane Studios and distributed by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released in May 2017 for PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In Prey, the player controls Morgan Yu as he explores the orbiting space station Talos 1, where research is being conducted on a hostile alien species called the Typhoon. As the Typhoon escapes the confined environment, the player is equipped with a variety of weapons and abilities derived from the Typhoon to defend themselves from the aliens while searching for a way out of the station. The station is presented to the player as an open world, with progression through obtaining keys or skills.
Arkane's Prey is a new version of the 2006 game of the same name, developed by Human Head Studios. The planned Prey 2 game, which was supposed to be a sequel to the 2006 game, failed and was followed by a transfer of the intellectual property from 3DRealms on Bethesda Softworks, which was canceled in 2014. Arkane's version does not include any of the planned content, only the name and idea of the main character being chased by aliens from the previous game.
