Haunted Hotel is a 2025 American animated comedy horror film series created by Matt Roller. The film premiered on the Netflix movie platform on September 19, 2025.
The central character is a single mother of two who inherits a hotel — The Undervale — from her brother. However, it turns out that the hotel is inhabited… by ghosts! Her most unexpected helper is her brother — a spirit who thinks ghosts have „good ideas.“ At the same time, alienated guests, ghosts with whims, and even a demonic child from the 18th century named Abaddon make everyday life at the hotel hectic, absurd, but also invariably entertaining.
The animation is stylish and theatrical at the same time, full of a touch of irony and a gothic aesthetic to the concept of a „haunted sitcom.“ The series is part of Netflix’s rise in adult animation, where humor meets social themes and unexpected plot boldness.
„Haunted Hotel“" is an animated comedy for adults that works like a... spell. It brings laughter, structure, surreal resonance, and a bit of otherworldly harassment — but all with a smile. If you love a genre that isn't afraid to go over the edge, this is the place for you.
