Kevin Bacon takes on a demon in new horror thriller 'Summoner'„
Kevin Bacon will play the lead role in the upcoming horror thriller "„Summoner“", which is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios. The project will mark the directorial debut of the screenwriter Jeremy Slater, known to genre film fans for his work on productions such as Mortal Kombat II, The Umbrella Academy and Moon Knight.
The film is being produced by horror director Andy Muschietti, his sister and producer Barbara Muschietti, and Russell Ackerman. The three will produce the film through their company Nocturna, which recently produced the horror project "„They will kill you.“.
The script, written by Slater, tells the story of Jefferson Haddock, a seasoned exorcist played by Kevin Bacon, who is summoned to a remote estate used in the witness protection program to deal with a terrifying demonic presence. However, his intervention has unexpected consequences and unleashes an ancient and destructive force that threatens both his life and everything around him.
Among the executive producers of the project is Dan Kagan, who worked on the successful horror Longlegs. The photos of "„Summoner“" are expected to start in the fall.
Jeremy Slater is one of the well-known names in the world of fantasy and horror productions. Over the years, he has participated in the creation of films and series such as Fantastic Four, The Exorcist and Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire. He is also among the creators of the popular series "„The Umbrella Academy“", based on the comics by Dark Horse.
For Kevin Bacon, this will be one of his rare recent lead roles in a feature film. In recent years, the actor has appeared in a variety of projects, often leaving a strong impression even with his supporting characters. He recently starred in the miniseries Sirens and led the cast of the series The Bondsman.
Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick recently worked together on the horror-comedy "„Family Movie“", which also features their children – Travis Bacon and Saucy Bacon.
With the combination of a supernatural story, proven acting talent, and a creative team with extensive experience in the genre, "„Summoner“" is already shaping up to be one of the more intriguing horror titles that viewers can expect in the coming years.
