Jennifer Lawrence to star in Apple's new film 'One Month Mark'

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has joined Apple's romantic comedy One Month Mark, which is already attracting serious attention in Hollywood.

The script was written by Sophie Fleur de Bruyne and has been generating intense interest among producers and studios since its release. According to industry sources, the project has become the subject of serious competition, with multiple production companies trying to secure the rights to the story.

Apple ultimately won the race, and Jennifer Lawrence's involvement further increased expectations for the film. Although plot details are still being kept under wraps, interest in the project continues to grow, especially since the script is among the most sought-after new romantic comedies in the entertainment industry.

„"One Month Mark" is another high-profile title in Apple's catalog, and with Jennifer Lawrence's name at the helm, the film is already shaping up to be one of the future romantic offerings that will be closely watched by audiences and critics.

The film's producers include David Reedy and Peter Chernin of Chernin Entertainment, the company behind one of the biggest movie hits of the year, "„Backrooms“". They are joined by Jennifer Lawrence, which she will produce through her company Excellent Cadaver, along with her longtime partner Justine Cherokee. Sophie Fleur de Bruyne herself will also participate in the project as an executive producer.

The official story description hints at an unconventional romantic dynamic: "She's never been able to keep a relationship going for more than a month. He's never been out of a relationship for more than a month." It's this intriguing starting point that's one of the reasons the script has garnered so much attention.

The film does not yet have a director selected, but according to sources, the process of searching for one has already begun.

This is Sophie Fleur de Bruyne's second collaboration with Apple. Last year, the company purchased her comedy script "„Early Action“", which marked the beginning of the partnership between the two countries. De Bruyne has honed her skills in the comedy genre at prestigious schools such as iO Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City Conservatory. According to the presentation on her personal website, she has a particular interest in creating energetic, emotionally impactful comedies whose central characters are rebellious and unconventional women and girls.

„One Month Mark“" will be Jennifer Lawrence's fourth project in collaboration with Apple. The actress recently wrapped filming for "„What Happens at Night“" – Martin Scorsese's new drama, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Lawrence previously starred and produced the drama "„Causeway“" from 2022, and also produced the documentary "„Bread & Roses“", a Peabody Award-winning film about the lives of women in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.

Brady Fujikawa, vice president of Chernin Entertainment, will also executive produce the project, overseeing the company's production. This has been a hugely successful year for the studio – in addition to the triumph of "„Backrooms“", it is also behind the Netflix hit "„Apex“" with Charlize Theron, as well as the television adaptation of "„Man on Fire“.

Jennifer Lawrence is represented by LBI Entertainment and law firm Hansen Jacobson, while Sophie Fleur de Bruyne is working with Anonymous Content and Johnson Shapiro.
