The glow (The Shining) is a 1980 American film directed by Stanley Kubrick written by Stanley Kubrick and Diane Johnson. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The film premiered on May 23, 1980.
Signing a contract, former teacher and ordinary writer Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) goes with his son Danny (Danny Lloyd) and his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall), in an isolated hotel with a dark past, whom they agree to take care of while Jack works on his writing project.
During their stay, son Danny sees disturbing visions of the hotel's past using a telepathic gift known as "The Shining." Father Jack Torrance slowly loses his sanity as a result of the hotel's isolation and the spirits of its former guests.
After being convinced by the ghost of a hotel waiter that he must "fix" his family, Jack goes completely insane. The only thing that can save Danny and his mother is "The Shining"...
