The Greatest Showman (The Greatest Showman) is a 2017 American musical drama film directed by Michael Gracey from a screenplay by Jenny Brix and Bill Condon. The film premiered in Bulgaria on December 29, 2017.
Left a poor orphan, but with ambitions and a mind overflowing with imagination and fresh ideas, the American Phineas Taylor Barnum (Hugh Jackman) will always be remembered as the man with the gift of effortlessly blending the line between reality and fantasy. Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the tailor's son managed to open wax museums, but soon shifted his focus to the unique and the bizarre, presenting exceptional and never-before-seen performances on the circus stage.
However, some people disliked Barnum's ideas and began to call his large collection of oddities a "freak show." At one point, the showman, obsessed with the desire for applause and respect, bet everything on opera singer Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson) to attract a high-society audience, but somehow diverts his attention from the most important thing in his life - his family.
