Tron 3 (Tron: Ares) is a 2025 American action-adventure fantasy film directed by Joachim Rönning from a screenplay by Jesse Wigto, Jack Thorne, and Steven Lisberger. The film is set for a US release on October 10, 2025.
In this part, the story takes a turn, as instead of humans entering the digital world, an advanced program named Ares (Jared Leto) is moving from the digital dimension into the real world. This represents humanity's first encounter with artificial intelligence in reality, creating new challenges and conflicts.
The development of a sequel to "„Throne: Covenant“" began in October 2010. Filming began in January 2024 in Vancouver and wrapped in May of that year. The film's music was composed by Nine Inch Nails.
The film promises to offer a new perspective on the franchise by exploring the interaction between artificial intelligence and humanity in the real world.
