The Conjuring: Last Rites

Spell 4: Last Communion (The Conjuring: Last Rites) is a 2025 American horror thriller film directed by Michael Chavez from a screenplay by Ian Goldberg, Richard Nane, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The film is set to be released in the United States on September 5, 2025.

After the events of "„The Spell 3: The Demon Slayer“", Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warrens retire from active work as paranormal investigators. However, when they receive a request for help from the Smerle family, who are experiencing terrifying supernatural phenomena in their West Pittston, Pennsylvania home, they decide to return for one last investigation.

The Smurle family reports strange smells, unexplained sounds, and physical attacks from unseen forces. The Warrens discover that the house is inhabited by four spirits, including a destructive demon. As they try to help the family, they confront their own fears and doubts, questioning everything they have ever believed.

Meanwhile, their daughter Judy and her boyfriend Tony find themselves drawn into the events, adding further tension and emotional depth to the story. The film explores themes of faith, family, and legacy as the Warrens struggle not only with external evil forces but also with their own inner demons.

The film is the final chapter in the main series of The Conjuring, which concludes with one of Ed and Lorraine Warren's most terrifying and emotionally charged investigations. Directed by Michael Chavez, the film is based on the true story of the Smerle family from Pennsylvania, who in 1986 claimed that their home was possessed by evil forces.
