Bridget Jones: Crazy About That Boy (Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy) is a 2025 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Michael Morris from a screenplay by Helen Fielding, Dan Mazer, and Abbie Morgan. The film is set to be released in the United States on February 14, 2025.
The film is the fourth part of the series about Bridget Jones. The plot follows Bridget (Renee Zellweger), who is now 51 years old and coping with life as a single mother of two children, following the death of her husband, Mark Darcy. The story is based on the book of the same name by Helen Fielding, published in 2013, and the film may have some differences from the novel.
In this film, Bridget is once again surrounded by her friends Sharon, Jude (Shirley Henderson) and Tom (James Callis), who continue to be her support. Unexpectedly, the hero of Hugh Grant, Daniel Cleaver, who was presumed dead, also returns to the story, adding a dose of surprise and humor. In addition, a new young character, played by Leo Udall, appears as a potential love interest for Bridget.
The film is both funny and emotional, continuing the tradition of the previous installments in the series.
