Night Always Comes is a 2025 American crime thriller film directed by Benjamin Caron from a screenplay by Willy Vlotin and Sarah Conrad. The film premiered on the Netflix movie platform on August 15, 2025.
The plot follows Lynette (Vanessa Kirby), who must find 25,000 $ overnight to save her family home from eviction. It is during this crisis that she confronts the shadow of her past, confronting betrayal and violence as she navigates Portland's underworld.
Benjamin Caron builds a tense, almost real-time a thriller where the city and the night become characters in their own right. The dark atmosphere and ominous anticipation are amplified through stark cinematography and street camerawork shot in the dark corners of Portland.
„Night Always Comes“" is a socially conscious thriller that weaves together a criminal portrait, a fight for survival, and personal democracy. Vanessa Kirby carries the weight of the story, and the atmosphere of Portland at night supports her on her dark path. Recommended for viewers looking for a drama with a social message and strong female characters.
