The Banshees of Inisheerin (The Banshees of Inisherin) is a 2022 Irish-British-American black comedy film directed by Martin McDonagh from a screenplay by Martin McDonagh. The film is set to be released in the United Kingdom on 21 October 2022.
The story takes place on a remote island west of Ireland, where two longtime friends, Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), find themselves at a "dead end" when Colm unexpectedly ends their friendship. A stunned Padraic, with the help of his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) and a young man from the island named Dominic (Barry Keegan), begins to make attempts to restore the broken relationship without accepting rejection.
Padraic's numerous efforts, however, only aggravate the situation and strengthen his former friend's resolve, and when Colm suddenly gives Padraic a desperate ultimatum, events begin to unfold rapidly, leading to shocking consequences.
