Mr. Nobody

Mr. Nobody (Mr. Nobody) is a 2009 Belgian fantasy film directed by Jaco Van Dormal and written by Jaco Van Dormal. The film premiered in Belgium on 13 January 2010.

The year is 2092, when a 118-year-old man named Nemo (Jared Leto) tells his life story to a reporter. However, he is often thought to be 34 years old, and his story becomes even more confusing when he focuses on his actual age at the moment.

He tells the story of his life, the stories revolving around three main points in it: when he was 9 years old (his parents' divorce), at 16 years old, and at 34 years old. What is confusing about his story is that he talks about alternative paths and possible options, often changing course with a change of decision that he could have made at each of these ages.

In one potential reality, he is married to Elise, a depressed woman who cannot get over the feelings she had for a man named Stefano when she was young and who asks Nemo to swear that when he dies, he will scatter his ashes on Mars.

In another version of his life, he is married to Jean. Their life is one of luxury, but also of utter boredom.

In a third chance at life, he experiences a romance with his stepsister Anna, and the two seek each other out after they have grown up because they were separated as teenagers.

These life paths sometimes even intersect, with the three women finding themselves in alternate lives in various guises. Are any of these lives real or are they all figments of his imagination?
