Monster Summer is a 2024 American adventure film directed by David Henry and written by Cornelius Juliano and Brian Schultz. The film is set for a US release on October 4, 2024.
This is a mystery-adventure film with supernatural and scary elements, reminiscent of classics like „"The Goonies"“. The story centers on a group of kids who spend their summer on an island. When a mysterious force begins to disrupt their adventures, they are reunited with retired police officer Gene Carruthers (Mel Gibson) to unravel what is behind these events and save the island.
The film contains numerous twists and turns that viewers will not be able to predict, and develops around the theme of the struggle between good and evil: "Evil wins when good people do nothing." The atmosphere of the film has been described as captivating and mysterious, and the dynamic between the main characters - an adult and a child - is one of the key points of the story.
Director David Henry strives to recreate an experience that can bring parents and children together by combining family themes with mystery and adventure inspired by children's films of the past.
