Jackass: Best and Last (2026)
Jackass: Best and Last is a 2026 American documentary comedy action film directed by Jeff Tremaine and based on the Jackass series by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and Johnny Knoxville. The film is set to be released in the United States on June 26, 2026.
„Jackass: Best and Last“" is the final chapter of one of the most scandalous and iconic comedy series, which began back in 2000 as a television show. Directed by Jeff Tremaine and created in collaboration with Johnny Knoxville and Spike Jonze, the film is conceived as a farewell letter to fans - a combination of new stunts and the best of the last 25 years. This is not just another part, but an attempt to close the circle - noisy, painful and, as always, absurd.
Like the previous films, "„Jackass: Best and Last“" has no traditional plot. Instead, it is a series of stunts, sketches, and experiments, connected by the presence of the crew and their reactions. This time, the structure is more peculiar - the film combines brand new performances with archive footage and unaired moments from the past. This creates a feeling of both a "best of" and a last attempt to push the boundaries once again.
The stunts range from classic physical challenges (pain, falls, explosions) to completely absurd concepts that often border on self-parody. The important thing here is not what exactly happens, but the reaction – laughter, disgust and shock, which are the hallmarks of the series. The film also carries a stronger sense of retrospection – through footage from the past and references to old performances, the feeling is built that this is the end of an era.
Jeff Tremaine retains the characteristic chaotic style – handheld camera, minimal editing and a sense of spontaneity. However, there is an additional layer here – the film is not only chaos, but also a kind of archive. The direction tries to balance between new material and nostalgia, which gives a more emotional tone compared to the previous parts. Visually there are no big changes – this remains a raw, direct and often deliberately „ugly“ cinema, where reality is more important than stylization.
There is no classic acting here – everything is based on real reactions and physical participation:
Johnny Knoxville remains the face of the series – charismatic, but now more moderate, especially after the severe traumas from previous films.
Steve-O continues to be the most extreme participant, ready to do anything for effect.
Chris Pontius and Jason "W-Man" Acuña add the typical absurd humor, while
Dave England and Eren McGehee often become the "victims" of the most painful moments.
The new generation – including Sean "Puppies" McInerney, Zach Holmes and Rachel Wolfson – brings fresh energy, but the dynamics remain dominated by the original team.
The appearance of Bam Margera is limited to archival footage, which further reinforces the feeling of nostalgia and change.
„Jackass: Best and Last“" is exactly what it promises - a noisy, chaotic and painfully funny finale. It doesn't try to be anything more than what it has always been - a group of friends doing stupid things in front of the camera. But this time there is something different - a sense of ending. Behind all the explosions and absurdity lies the realization that this is probably the last time we see this team together. The film will appeal most to fans of the series. To others it may seem pointless or excessive - but that is precisely its essence.
