Dida (Margarita Stoykova) is a turbulent 16-year-old girl from a small provincial town who faces violence and school troubles. Her mother works in the United States, and her father Mityo (Tsvetan Alexiev) is an alcoholic unemployed man who lives with her. Dida dreams of going to live with her mother in America and tries to raise money for a ticket to New York in any way she can, but a cruel revelation shatters her plans, leading to unimaginable actions.
