Melinda Moore is a steady, working wife who supports her husband, Robert, an engineer pursuing his invention. As Melinda runs out of the funds she inherited from her mother, they fall into debt and their relationship gradually cools. At one point, Melinda receives information that Robert is cheating on her, which leads to the end of their marriage.
