40 Acres is a 2024 Canadian post-apocalyptic fantasy action thriller film directed by R. T. Thorne from a screenplay by R. T. Thorne, Glen Taylor, and Laura Campbell. The film premiered in Canada (Toronto International Film Festival) is on September 6, 2024.

In the near future, after a global pandemic and civil wars, humanity is on the brink of extinction. In this world where farms are the most valuable resource, the Freeman family - descendants of African-American farmers who settled in Canada in 1875 - try to survive in isolation.

Hayley Freeman, a former soldier, runs her farm and family with iron discipline. She and her partner, Gaylen, have trained their children to defend themselves and be independent. Their eldest son, Emmanuel, begins to rebel against the strict rules and seeks contact with the outside world. His encounter with a mysterious young woman outside the farm fence calls into question the safety of the entire family.
