The Callisto Protocol is an action video game developed by Striking Distance Studios and the creators of Dead Space, and published by Krafton. The game is set for release on December 2, 2022, and is directed by Glenn Scofield, who co-created the series. Dead Space, and it will be possible to play on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Gameplay
The action in The Callisto Protocol takes place in 2320 in a maximum security colonial prison called Black Iron, which is run by the United Jupiter Company and is located on Jupiter's moon Callisto. The player takes on the role of prisoner Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel), a victim of fate, thrown into Black Iron prison, caught in the middle of an alien invasion that appears to be orchestrated by the prison guards. When the remaining prisoners begin to transform into monstrous creatures, chaos reigns within the prison.
To survive, Jacob must fight for his freedom and escape the Black Iron prison while uncovering the dark and sinister secrets buried beneath the surface of Callisto. Using a unique arsenal of firearms and hand-to-hand combat skills, Jacob must adapt to combat the rapidly growing number of creatures as he scours the terrain for new weapons, gear, and abilities to save himself from the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter's dead moon.
The game challenges players to escape the maximum security prison Black Iron and uncover its terrifying secrets, fighting for their lives against terrifying aliens. A blend of horror, action and a gripping story, The Callisto Protocol aims to raise the bar for the horror genre in interactive entertainment.
