The Florist (literal translation: The florist) is a 2026 action thriller film directed by Babak Najafi from a screenplay by Eran Creevy, Ethan Seuss, and Scott Windhauser. The film was released in the United States on October 9, 2026, and combines a crime thriller with a story about a man leading a double life.
Carl Ricker may seem like a quiet, inconspicuous florist, but behind his calm daily life lies a dangerous secret - he is a professional assassin. When his work involves him in a case of police corruption, his life spirals out of control. Together with his partner Charlie, he must decide whether to protect young Layla, a witness who could become a target for the very people he should be protecting.
Babak Najafi builds the story around the familiar contrast between the seemingly ordinary everyday life and the violence the character hides behind it. The flower shop serves as a cover for a completely different world, where trust is a risk, and every decision can have dire consequences. The direction combines criminal suspense and straight action, while the plot puts the characters in conflict between their own survival and the desire to help a person in danger.
Dennis Quaid plays the role of Carl Riker and portrays a character whose calm exterior conceals deadly skills. Jean Reno is Charlie, his partner, and Sky Katz plays Leila, the young witness whose situation changes the course of events. The cast also includes Leonidas Gulaptis, Jim Klock, Elsa Molien, Dylan Flashner, Anna Shaffer и Dominic LaRufa Jr..
The Florist uses a familiar crime thriller formula, but places it in an unusual setting, where flowers conceal a profession associated with death and danger. The story combines chases, corrupt officials and the difficult choice of whether to protect a person you barely know. For fans of action films, the production offers a clash between the criminal world and a personal sense of responsibility, led by two experienced actors in the central roles.
