Let me in. (Let Me In) (2010) is an American horror film with elements of drama, thriller, and romance, directed and written by Matt Reeves based on the novel by Jon Ivide Lindqvist. The production is an English-language adaptation of the Swedish film Let the right one come in. (2008), and its premiere in the United States was on October 1, 2010.

Owen is a lonely twelve-year-old boy who is bullied daily by his classmates and has difficulty finding solace in his family life. When a mysterious girl named Abby moves into the apartment next door, the two gradually develop an unusual friendship. She appears mostly at night, acts differently from the other kids, and hides a secret that soon becomes connected to a series of brutal murders in the neighborhood. As Owen discovers his first real closeness with another person, he must accept that the girl he becomes attached to is not who he thinks she is. The story combines supernatural horror with a painfully realistic look at loneliness, violence, and the need to belong.

Matt Reeves, later known as War for the Planet of the Apes и Batman, builds a dark, cold atmosphere in which the threat is felt even in the seemingly calm moments. Rather than relying on constant startling scenes, the direction gradually builds tension through silence, the winter setting, and carefully chosen shots. The result is a sad and disturbing story rather than a traditional vampire film.

Kodi Smit-McPhee convincingly portrays Owen's vulnerability and suppressed anger, and Chloe Grace Moretz builds Abby as simultaneously mysterious, frightening, and capable of affection. There's a natural on-screen chemistry between the two that lends emotional weight to their relationship. Richard Jenkins complements the story with a painfully restrained performance, and Elias Koteas и Cara Buono they give density to the secondary characters.

Let me in. is notable for using the vampire theme to tell a story of isolation, violence, and the desperate need for intimacy. The slower pace and subdued narrative may not appeal to viewers expecting constant action, but it allows the characters to remain at the center of the story. This is a dark and emotionally impactful production, suitable for fans of psychological horror films who prefer atmosphere and human drama over cheap scares.
