Black Bag is a 2025 American spy thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by David Kepp. The film is set to be released in the United States on March 14, 2025.
The film tells the story of George (Michael Fassbender) and Catherine Woodhouse (Cate Blanchett), legendary intelligence agents and happily married for years. Although both are deeply committed to their work, they maintain a balance in their marriage by not sharing details of their missions. This harmony is disrupted when Catherine is suspected of treason. George is faced with a difficult decision: to remain loyal to his wife or to the country he serves.
In January 2024, it was announced that Steven Soderbergh would direct the film, with Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender set to star. Reggie-Jean Page, Marisa Abella, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan, and Tom Burke later joined the cast. Principal photography began in London on May 6, 2024.
