The Sentinels (2025 – )

The Sentinels (orig. title: The Sentinels; literal translation: Guards / The Guardians) is a 2025 French military fantasy film series created by Guillaume Lehmann, Xabi Molliac, and Raphaël Richet. The film premiered in France on September 29, 2025.

The Sentinels is an adaptation of the comic book of the same name by Xavier Dorison and Enrique Brescia, mixing war drama, fantasy, and euphony to recreate an alternative version of World War I.

The action takes place during World War I, where the French Army launches a secret military experiment with the aim of creating super soldiers - fighters who are stronger, faster, and more resilient than ordinary soldiers.

The main character is Gabriel Ferro, a young soldier who is seriously injured on the battlefield and is therefore selected to participate in the project. After being injected with a secret serum, he begins to acquire extraordinary physical abilities and inherits supernatural qualities that make him part of an elite group called the Sentinels.

The series explores the conflict between humanity and military exploitation as Gabriel and his comrades discover that their new powers bring not only victory, but also moral dilemmas, warlike realities, and dangers that could change the course of the war.

The series was created by Guillaume Lehmann, Xabi Molliac and Raphaël Richet and directed by Thierry Poirot (for the first episodes) and Édouard Salier (for the subsequent ones). The style of The Sentinels combines military drama with fantasy elements, placing the characters in an atmosphere of war, secret scientific experiments and moral dilemmas. With visually rich scenes and fast-paced action, the series offers a blend of historical conflict and science fiction thriller.

Among the main actors in the series are:

Louis Perez — in the role of Gabriel Ferro, the central character who becomes the first "Sentinel.".
Thibaut Evrard — participates as part of the Sentinel group and another soldier with enhanced abilities.
Casey Motet Klein — as de Clermont, a character with his own influence on events.
Karl Malapa — plays the role of Arman, another member of the elite group.
Olivia Ross — like Irene, who also plays an important role in the story.
Pauline Etienne — as Mart, involved in the experiments and scientific side of the project.
Wasini Embarek — as the Baron, a character with key actions in the plot.

(Heroes are often part of a complex network of military, scientists, and allies that shape the main storylines.)

The Sentinels is an ambitious French series that skillfully blends historical warfare with fantasy concepts about super soldiers. It offers not only fast-paced military action, but also an emotionally and morally charged story about people who fight not only against the enemy, but also with their own conscience and destiny. Mixing scientific mysteries, battle scenes and human conflicts, the series is suitable for viewers who love war drama with fantastic twists and strong characters.
