Marvel Zombies is a 2025 American animated fantasy horror action film created by Zeb Wells. The film premiered on movie platforms on October 3, 2025.
„Marvel Zombies is an animated miniseries adaptation of the popular comic books featuring zombie versions of Marvel characters. Created by Zeb Wells and directed by Brian Andrews, this dark and vinyl-based animation builds on the plot of the first season of What If…?'s episode "What If… Zombies?!", taking it to a dark alternate reality where superheroes have become the undead.
The miniseries consists of four episodes and is part of the Marvel Phase Six television universe, carrying a TV-MA rating – meaning "for adults only", which suggests explicit violence, gore, and a horror atmosphere, combined with heroic comic book motifs.
With an animation style reminiscent of What If…?, the series retains its cel-shaded visuals but goes for darker colors, with a flurry of gore, zombies, violence, and tension. It is the first animated production from Marvel Studios to be rated TV-MA – appealing to viewers seeking a more direct, explicit, and emotionally charged story.
A canonized part of MCU Phase Six, the miniseries enters the Disney+ calendar in October 2025 alongside titles like Eyes of Wakanda and Wonder Man. This makes it one of Marvel's most significant animated offerings for the fall.
