Wonder Woman 1984 (Wonder Woman 1984) is a 2020 American fantasy action film directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Patty Jenkins, Dave Callaham, and Geoff Johns. The film premiered in Bulgaria on June 5, 2020.
Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) entered into conflict with the USSR during the Cold War in the 1980s and encountered a formidable rival named Chita (Kristen Wiig). The film is based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman (DC Comics) about super heroes and is a sequel to the film "„Wonder Woman“" from 2017. This is the fourth feature film starring the main character after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman and Justice League (2017), and the second feature film focusing on the character.
Discussions for a sequel began shortly after the release of the first film in June 2017, and the decision was made the following month. Filming began on June 13, 2018, at the film studios of Warner Bros. in England, in Northern Virginia in the United States, in London and Duxford in England, in Tenerife and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, and in Almería, Spain, and concluded on December 22, 2018, after a 6-month filming period.
