Project Hummingbird (The Hummingbird Project) is a 2019 Canadian-Belgian film directed by Kim Nguyen from a screenplay by Kim Nguyen. The film premiered in Canada on March 22, 2019.
In this modern epic, director Kim Nguyen reveals the ruthless edge of our ever-expanding digital world. New York cousins Vincent (Jesse Eisenberg) and Anton (Alexander Skarsgard) are players in the high-stakes game of high-frequency financial trading, where winnings are measured in fractions of a second. Their dream is to build a straight fiber-optic cable route between Kansas and New Jersey, which will earn them millions.
Anton is the mastermind and Vincent is the crook, as the two propel themselves and those around them forward in this electrifying adventure. Constantly breathing down their necks is their former boss, Eva Torres (Salma Hayek), a powerful and manipulative businessman who will stop at nothing to stand between them and beat them at their own game.
No matter what the cost, Vincent and Anton are determined to "cut up" America, only to find salvation at the end of their line, not through money, but through family and a connection to the land.
