America in 1968. Change is in the wind, but it seems that far from the restless cities, the small town of Mill Valley in Pennsylvania has remained, over which the shadow of the Bellows family has hung for generations.
In their mansion on the edge of town, a young girl with terrible secrets has turned her tortured life into a series of terrifying stories written in a book floating through time. Stories that somehow become reality for a group of young people who discover Sarah's terrifying tales.
The film is based on the 1981 series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz, which includes three books of scary stories for children inspired by folklore and urban legends, researched quite intensively.
