November: Terror in Paris (2022)

November

November: Terror in Paris (November; orig. title: November) is a 2022 French crime thriller film directed by Cédric Jiménez from a screenplay by Olivier Demangel and Cédric Jiménez. The film is set to be released in France on 22 May 2022.

„"Novembre" is a tense police thriller film that follows the relentless pursuit of the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015. Six months after the events, the story focuses on the case - a group of counter-terrorists dedicated to finding those responsible and preventing a new wave of violence.

The story unfolds over five intense days following the attacks, capturing the concentration and sleeplessness of the officers of the French anti-terrorist unit (SDAT). Rather than painting a spectacle of horror, the film relies on cold methodicality and the search for clues, without directly showing the attacks themselves.

Jimenez builds the atmosphere with a documentary rather than sensationalist eye. The cameras are close to the faces, the tone is somber and the rhythm is tense – a stance that emphasizes the relentless reality of the fight against terrorism. There are no spectacular shots – on the contrary, the film moves through dialogues, telephone calls, meetings and reports, without unnecessary dramatization.

„"Novembre" is a dark, tense and grippingly realistic thriller that does not rely on spectacle, but on what the real world brings: the inexorable necessity of investigation. It is a film that puts professionalism before heroism, everyday life before drama. It does not aim for emotional shock, but for understanding and respect for the complexity of the state machine.
