Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice is an unusual combination of crime comedy, action and science fiction, mixing a gangster story with chaotic humor and elements of time travel. The film was written and directed by BenDavid Grabinski and offers an unconventional and stylish story filled with absurd situations, fast-paced dialogue and unpredictable twists.
The film tells the story of a crazy night in the criminal world, in which two friends, a woman and… a time machine create a series of chaotic events. With a mix of crime plot, comedy and science fiction elements, the film tries to offer a fresh and funny look at the genre of „buddy“ action comedies.
The story takes place in the dark and often absurd world of the criminal underground, where two gangsters - Mike and Nick - find themselves involved in the most dangerous night of their lives. The two are long-time friends, but their relationship is complicated by a common weakness - the mysterious and charismatic Alice.
The three find themselves at the center of a series of criminal problems that quickly escalate. Over the course of one night, they must deal with dangerous enemies, crime bosses, and a series of tangled situations that constantly spiral out of control.
But the situation becomes even more absurd when a time machine appears in the story. Suddenly, the characters begin to face versions of themselves from the future, who are trying to prevent catastrophic events. This creates a chaotic chain of paradoxes, doubles and decisions that could change the fate of everyone. As the night becomes more dangerous, Mike, Nick and Alice must find out if they can fix their mistakes - or if they will only make things worse.
BenDavid Grabinski's direction strives for a dynamic and energetic style. The film combines elements of 1990s and 2000s crime comedies with modern science fiction ideas. The pace is fast, the dialogue is filled with sarcastic humor, and the plot often shifts from intense action to comic and absurd situations. Grabinski uses a structure in which events are intertwined through time travel, creating different versions of the same night. Visually, the film relies on a stylish crime atmosphere – neon lights, night streets and chaotic shootouts – which complement the energetic tone of the story.
The cast combines well-known comedic actors with charismatic action performers.
Vince Vaughn is one of the central characters in the film – a gangster with a sarcastic sense of humor who often finds himself in absurd situations. His comedic style gives the film much of its energy.
James Marsden plays Mike – a more sensible, but equally involved character in the chaos, trying to figure out how to survive this crazy night.
Eisa Gonzalez is Alice – the mysterious woman around whom much of the conflict between the characters revolves. She gives the film charisma, dynamism and a strong presence.
Keith David emerges as a dangerous figure from the criminal world, whose influence contributes to the tension and danger surrounding the main characters.
Jimmy Tatro also adds a comedic element to the story with an eccentric and energetic character.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice is an unusual mix of crime comedy, science fiction and action. The film relies on absurd humor, a dynamic plot and an unconventional idea that combines a gangster story with time travel.
