Masters of the universe (Masters of the Universe) is a 2026 American family adventure fantasy action film directed by Travis Knight from a screenplay by Chris Butler. The film is set to be released in the United States on June 5, 2026.
The story begins with the young Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzin), who as a child crashed a spaceship on Earth, his mother's planet. In this accident, he lost the magical Sword, which was his only "passport" to his home planet.
Decades later, Adam discovers the sword and, realizing his true identity, returns to Eternia. There, through the sword, he accepts his heritage and becomes the legendary warrior He-Man. His mission is to protect the kingdom and Castle Grayskull from the evil Skeletor (Jared Leto), which threatens not only Etheria, but also the balance of the Universe.
Along the way, Adam must face not only the external threat, but also rediscover himself - the courage, morality, and strength that make him a true hero worthy of the title He-Man.
Director Travis Knight — known for his work in animation and the film "„Bumblebee“" — promises a big-budget adaptation, modern visuals, and respect for the fantastical spirit of the original universe.
According to production notes, the film will combine epic battles, fantasy planets, and magic, accompanied by a dramatic story of heroism and responsibility.
The cast is selected to provide a mix of physical strength (for the fights), acting depth (for the internal conflicts), and color (for the characters from Eternia).
According to information after filming ended, the production was one of the studio's largest (with numerous sets, costumes, special effects), which speaks to the ambitions to create a spectacular, large-scale film.
