Mardaani 3 is a 2026 Indian crime action thriller film directed by Abhiraj Minawala from a screenplay by Ayush Gupta, Deepak Kingrani and Baljeet Singh Marwa. The film is set to release in India on 30 January 2026.
The movie "„Mardaani 3“" continues the story of Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy and once again places her at the center of a difficult investigation related to the disappearance of young girls and a network of organized crime. The production maintains the series' characteristic dark and socially focused tone, but this time the stakes are even higher - the case involves dozens of missing children and reveals a deep-rooted criminal structure related to trafficking and exploitation.
The story revolves around a double kidnapping that initially seems like an isolated incident, but quickly turns out to be part of a much larger scheme. Two girls disappear under different circumstances—one is the child of a diplomat, the other is the child of an ordinary family that the system easily ignores. The investigation leads Shivani Shivaji Roy into a web of criminal gangs, social neglect, and well-organized exploitation. With each step, it becomes clear that the case is not an isolated one, but part of a chain of disappearances involving dozens of children.
As Shivani gets closer to the truth, she begins to understand that her opponent is not just an individual criminal, but an entire system that uses poverty, fear and institutional indifference as weapons. The film builds tension by drawing parallels between the official investigation and the real-life street network in which victims disappear without a trace.
Abhiraj Miniwala maintains the style of the series — a tense police drama with a clear social commentary. The camera follows the investigation in a dynamic rhythm, alternating between police operations, interrogations and moments of direct confrontation. The direction relies on a sense of constant urgency — the story literally moves in a „race against time“ mode. At the same time, the bureaucratic burden that often slows down or distorts justice is emphasized. The visual style is harsh and realistic — the urban locations, gloomy neighborhoods and institutional spaces create the feeling of a world in which justice hardly reaches the victims.
Rani Mukerji once again builds a strong presence as Shivani Shivaji Roy - a tough, determined and emotionally engaged police officer who does not compromise even when the system gets in her way.
Janki Bodivala In the role of Fatima, Anwar adds a more earthy and human layer to the story, as a character who balances the procedural side of the investigation and the real human cost of the crimes.
Mallika Prasad, playing the role of "Amma," is the central antagonist and brings a cool, calculated menace—a character who relies not on chaos but on organization and control.
Prajesh Kashyap with Ramanujan adding another layer of tension, as part of the wider criminal structure behind the disappearances.
„Mardaani 3“" continues the franchise's tradition as a socially engaged crime thriller that combines personal investigation with a broader commentary on systemic issues. The film's greatest strength is its sense of scale — the story is not limited to a single case, but rather shows a whole web of crime and institutional failures. With a strong central character, a tense investigation, and a heavy social theme, the film fits in as a logical continuation of the series and maintains its characteristic, dark tone.
