Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) is a 2024 American fantasy action film directed by Wes Ball from a screenplay by Patrick Eason, Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Pierre Boule. The film is set to be released in the United States on May 10, 2024.

The new ape movie takes place many years after the events of "„War for the Planet of the Apes“" from 2017. Many ape-like societies have grown up since the Moses-like Caesar led his people to an oasis while humans were reduced to a savage existence. Some ape groups have never heard of Caesar, while others have twisted his teachings to build thriving empires.

In this setting, an ape leader begins enslaving other groups to find human technology, while another ape, who has watched his clan be taken away, embarks on a journey to find freedom. A young human woman becomes key to the latter's mission, even though she has her own agenda.

The film is a sequel to "„War for the Planet of the Apes“" from 2017 and is the fourth sequel to the revived "Planet of the Apes" franchise.
