In Your Dreams is a 2025 American adventure comedy family fantasy film directed by Alexander Wu and Eric Benson from a screenplay by Eric Benson, Alexander Wu, and Stanley Moore. The film premiered on the Netflix movie platform on November 14, 2025.
The central story focuses on two young characters, 12-year-old Stevie and her 8-year-old brother Elliot. Together, they embark on a journey into a strange, surreal dream world populated by talking zombies, animated snacks, a nervous giraffe, and the fearsome Nightmare Queen. Their goal? To find the legendary Sandman, who can grant their wish — to restore harmony to their family.
The animation combines CG with 2D elements, offering vivid and detailed „dreamlike“ worlds—from mountains of candy to giant French fries, brought to life to music like „Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).“ The design is engaging, lush, and rich with nostalgic references that will capture the attention of young and old.
The musical soundtrack is composed by John Debney, supported by classics like “Sweet Dreams” and a rendition of “Enter Sandman” by Weezer. The music is dynamic, emphasizing a sense of nostalgia, colorful fantasies, and innocent suspense.
In Your Dreams is a conceptually inventive, visually quirky and emotionally impactful travelogue for children and the whole family. If you are looking for something beyond the standard animation — with a touch of fantasy, nostalgia and one small message: family is the most important thing — this is the film that will leave you with a smile and warmth.
