Gran Torino (2008)

Gran Torino

Gran Torino (Gran Torino) is a 2008 American film directed by Clint Eastwood from a screenplay by Nick Schenck. The film premiered on December 12, 2008.

Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) is a widower who clings to his prejudices, ignoring the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a sour, unsentimental, and angry old man who can't get along with either his children or the neighborhood kids. He is a Korean War veteran whose most prized possession is a 1972 Ford Gran Torino, which he keeps in mint condition.

When his neighbor Tao (Bee Wang), a young man, goaded by his cousin, who is a member of the local gang, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to change the youth. Drawn against his will into the lives of Tao's family, Kowalski soon takes steps to protect them from the gangsters who plague their neighborhood.
