Fast Charlie (literal translation: Fast Charlie) is a 2023 American crime action film directed by Philip Noyce from a screenplay by Richard Wenk and Victor Gischler. The film is set to be released in the United States on October 7, 2023.
Charlie Swift (Pierce Brosnan), also known as "Fast Charlie," is a mercenary with a problem - the target he kidnapped was left headless. Now he must prove that he was the intended target of the man who hired him to kill - the biggest and most ruthless mobster in New Orleans, Beggar Mercado (Gbenga Akinagbe).
Charlie attracts Marcy Kramer (Morena Baccarin), the victim's ex-wife and a woman with the skills Charlie needs. Marcy's return to the past she's determined to escape sends the two on a wild and unpredictable odyssey that's both funny and action-packed, and ultimately heartfelt.
Along the way, Charlie and Marcy fight to protect the legacy of Charlie's best friend and mentor, Stan Mullen (James Kahn), while simultaneously wiping out the Beggar and his entire operation.
The film is based on the novel "„Gun Monkeys“" by Victor Gischler from 2001.
