„Fall 2: Deadpoint“" is a British-American survival thriller that continues the story from "„Fall“" (2022), but presents a new test of deadly height. The film is directed by Michael Spirig and Peter Spierig, and the script was written by Jonathan Frank and Scott Mann. The US premiere is scheduled for September 2, 2026., and in Bulgaria the film is released in cinemas on September 4, 2026. distributed by bTV Studios.
The story follows Jax Hunter, who is still struggling to come to terms with the death of her sister Hunter. She becomes close with Luce, her sister's brave and adventurous friend, who suggests an unusual way to honor her memory. The two head to Thailand, where they decide to walk the famous "plank walk" on Mount Kuan. However, the fun turns into a nightmare when a landslide leaves them stranded on a narrow structure about 3,000 feet above the ground.
In the lead role Harriet Slater builds Jax as a character whose struggle is not only physical but also psychological. She is haunted by the loss of her sister and must overcome her own fears to have a chance at survival. Arsema Thomas plays Luce, the complete opposite of Jax in terms of courage and risk-taking. The contrast between the two heroines is an important part of the dramatic structure of the film.
The cast also includes: Tom Britney, Virginia Gardner, Grace Caroline Curry, Jordan Coleman, Juju Journey Brenner, Einar Haraldsson, Alexandra Bartlett, Ivy Mann, London Nuovo and Andrey Kasushkin. Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Curry return from the first film, tying the sequel to the original story.
The brothers' direction Michael Spirig and Peter Spierig retains the series' basic formula of limited space, immense height, and characters who must find a way to survive when almost all options for action are exhausted. If in the first film the television tower was the center of the nightmare, here the danger comes from the combination of mountainous terrain, unstable structures, and the complete lack of a safe way back.
The strongest element of "„Fall 2: Deadpoint“" is the feeling of height. The premise itself turns a simple movement into a potentially deadly action. The narrow plank, the gap under the heroines, and the inability to turn back create a constant physical discomfort that is characteristic of the series. The film uses the fear of heights not just as a visual effect, but as a major tool for building tension.
At the same time, the sequel adds a stronger emotional motivation. For Jax, this is not just another extreme adventure - the attempt to honor her sister's memory puts her in a situation where she must confront her grief and guilt. Thus, the story receives an additional dramatic layer that stands alongside the physical struggle for survival.
One of the curious things about the film is that it doesn’t simply try to replicate the first installment. While the basic premise remains the same – people trapped at a great height with no safe way out – the new setting allows the filmmakers to create a different set of obstacles. Mount Quan and the famous boardwalk make nature and the structure itself a constant threat.
„Fall 2: Deadpoint“" is a sequel that retains the most important things from the original - fear, heights, isolation and a constant fight for survival. The new story adds an emotional line related to the loss of a loved one, and Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas give the film a new central duo. For fans of survival thrillers and films that make the fear of heights a major source of tension, "„Fall 2: Deadpoint“" is a natural continuation of the series and one of the more attractive genre titles of September 2026.
