Aporia (2023)

Aporia is a 2023 American drama fantasy film directed by Jared Moshe from a screenplay by Jared Moshe. The film is set to premiere on movie platforms on September 12, 2023.

„Aporia“" is a deeply philosophical and emotionally charged science fiction drama that explores the most intimate issues of pain, loss, and moral responsibility. The film combines a humanistic narrative with scientific paradoxes, creating a cinematic experience that relies not on effects but on the power of emotional conflict.

The plot follows a young widow, Sofia (Judy Greer), who struggles to cope with the death of her husband, killed in a senseless shooting. Her life descends into despair and hopelessness, until one day she is offered an unimaginable opportunity: participating in an experiment involving a device that can kill people in the past. Faced with a dilemma - whether to use the machine to bring back the one she loves by taking another life - Sofia must make a decision that will change not only her world, but also her moral compass forever.

„Aporia“" is an extremely powerful film, not so much because of its science fiction framework, but because of the way it places the viewer at the center of a moral storm. The narrative moves at a slow, contemplative pace that allows viewers to feel the characters' inner conflict and empathize with their every hesitation. The visual style is subdued, realistic, and emphasizes emotional weight, and the musical score quietly complements the dramatic atmosphere.

The acting is at an exceptional level – Judy Greer in the lead role is extremely convincing, with a quiet but strong emotional expression. She is partnered by talented performers who give density and credibility to the film's story.
