A star is born (A Star Is Born) is a 2018 American musical romantic film directed by Bradley Cooper from a screenplay by Eric Roth, Bradley Cooper, and Will Fetters. The film premiered in Bulgaria on October 5, 2018.
Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a famous country singer struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, has a concert in New York. His main supporter is Bobby (Sam Elliott), who is his manager and older stepbrother. After the show, Jackson visits a bar where he watches Ali perform (Lady Gaga) – a waitress who writes and performs songs. Jackson is amazed by her performance and the two spend the night talking to each other, during which Ali tells him about the problems she has faced while pursuing a professional music career. Jackson invites Ali to his next concert.
Despite her initial refusal, at Jackson's insistence, Ally sings on stage with him. Jackson asks her to go on tour with him, and the two become romantically involved. In Arizona, Ally and Jackson visit the ranch where Jackson grew up and where his father is buried, but discover that Bobby has sold the land. Angered by the betrayal, Jackson punches Bobby, who then ceases to be his manager. However, Bobby tells Jackson beforehand that he informed him of the sale, but he was too drunk to notice.
