Pearl (Pearl) is an American horror film directed by Ty West from a screenplay by Ty West and Mia Goth. The film is set to be released in the United States on September 16, 2022.
Isolated on her parents' remote farm in 1918, a young woman named Pearl (Mia Goth) is forced to care for her ailing father, watched closely by her domineering and pious mother. At the same time, however, Pearl finds herself on the brink of madness, yearning for the glamorous life she knows from the movies.
This leads her to try to escape the isolation, hard work, and lack of love on the family farm to discover what her ambitions are and the things that tempt and limit her, all leading to a clash with the well-known villain X in this story telling his origin.
