A dose of happiness (A Dose of Happiness) is a 2019 Bulgarian romantic film directed by Yana Titova and written by Yana Titova. The film premiered in Bulgaria on November 8, 2019.
During the 1990s, drugs became widespread in Bulgaria.„A dose of happiness“" is a tale about the search for happiness, but the discovery of hell, because happiness has many faces, just like the Devil. A love story turns the heroine's life upside down and at the same time destroys it. However, her family is always with her and helps her in difficult times.
The film is based on the novel by Vesela Toteva "„Fall and Salvation: Confessions of a Drug Addict“" from 2016, in which the writer tells a true story from her life about drugs, downfall, fear and redemption, while searching for her own happiness during the dynamic changes of the 1990s in Bulgaria. The main role is played by the daughter of Vesela Toteva - Valentina Karoleva. The journalist and TV producer Vesela Toteva died unexpectedly on March 4, 2019.
