Rights holder / Distributor: Marvel Studios / Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Avengers: Secret Wars is a 2027 American superhero action film directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely. It is scheduled for release in the United States on December 17, 2027.
Avengers: Secret Wars is the sixth film in the Avengers series and is planned as the culmination of Marvel's Multiverse saga. The story follows the events of Avengers: Doomsday, but plot details are still being kept under wraps. The title itself refers to one of Marvel's biggest comic book events, involving the clash of different universes and the emergence of Battleworld.
The Russo Brothers are back behind the camera after Avengers: Infinity War и Avengers: Endgame, which the two directed in turn. Stephen McFeely also has a long history with the franchise, as he is one of the writers of Captain America: The First Avenger Returns, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War и Avengers: Endgame. The new film should continue the multiverse line developed in recent Marvel productions and connect multiple characters and plot lines.
Among the confirmed participants are: Robert Downey Jr. like Victor Von Doom, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn и Ebon Mos-Bakrah from the new version of the Fantastic Four. More have been linked to the cast Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kayman, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Letitia Wright, Chris Evans и Sadie Sink, but at such an early stage of production, some of the composition information is still subject to change.
Avengers: Secret Wars is tasked with bringing to a close one of the biggest storylines in Marvel Studios history. The return of the Russo brothers and McFeely after the success of Endless war и The end, as well as the presence of characters from different parts of the cinematic universe, make the production one of the studio's most anticipated future titles. While details about the story are limited, the film is clearly conceived as a huge event that should unite multiple characters and give a new direction to the MCU.
