Don't Tell Mom | Rolling Loud (2026)

Rights holder / Distributor: Ketchup Entertainment / Forum Film Bulgaria

Don't tell mom. (Rolling Loud) is a 2026 American comedy film directed by Jeremy Garelick from a screenplay he wrote. It was released in the United States on October 2, 2026.

Hank, desperate to spend more time with his 13-year-old son, Zayn, decides to secretly take him to the massive hip-hop festival Rolling Loud, despite his wife Melanie's explicit prohibition. His plan goes awry almost immediately when the boy disappears among the tens of thousands of attendees, and Hank can't get help from security without admitting what he's done. Together with two unlikely allies, he embarks on a madcap quest that takes him through crowds, backstage areas, and increasingly absurd situations.

Jeremy Garelick uses the real-life scale of Rolling Loud to transform a seemingly simple family story into a noisy and chaotic adventure. The director, known for comedies like The Break-Up, The Wedding Ringer и The New Guy, places the characters in an environment where almost any mistake can lead to a new problem. What is especially curious is the fact that the idea was inspired by a real-life incident from Garelik's life, who really took his son to the festival and then lost him in the crowd. Part of the production was filmed during the real Rolling Loud Miami in 2024, which contributes to the feeling that the action takes place at a real music event.

Owen Wilson is at the center of the story as Hank and uses his familiar comedic style to portray a father who is constantly finding himself in situations beyond his capabilities. Christian Convery is convincing as Zion, around whom Hank's real problem gradually reveals itself - not just to find his son, but to accept that he is already starting to become independent. Matt Rife и Christine Ko complement the comedy core, while Travis Scott, Sexy Red, Henry Winkler, Playboi Carti, Ski Mask и Ty Dolla $ign give the film an authentic connection to the hip-hop scene and the festival itself.

Don't tell mom. doesn't try to be a complex family drama, but uses the chaos of a huge music festival as the driving force behind the story. Beneath the comical chases, ridiculous encounters, and festival adventures lies a relatively simple theme: a father's desire to stay close to his son as he gradually grows up. This gives the film a little more substance than a simple comedy about failed parenting plans.

For viewers who like light and dynamic movies, the production offers a combination of family comedy, musical atmosphere and real hip-hop stars. Don't tell mom. relies mostly on Owen Wilson's energy and the unusual environment of Rolling Loud, turning a parental mistake into a noisy adventure about two people who must rethink their relationship with each other.
