Tau (Tau) is a 2018 American fantasy thriller film directed by Federico D'Alessandro from a screenplay by Noga Landau. The film was released in the United States on June 29, 2018.
The streetwise trickster and con artist Julia (Mother Monroe) is one of the last humans held captive, whose body and mind can be used in a fatal experiment. The only thing standing in the way of her freedom is TAU – Alex's secret advanced artificial intelligence (Ed Skrein), who is her masochistic and mysterious kidnapper.
TAU is armed with an army of drones and robots that automate work in Alex's futuristic "smart" home and laboratory, whose walls are lined with screens that visually transport from grassy meadows to deep space.
The TAU's capabilities are only limited by the world it exists in, but it is ready for more. Showing resourcefulness and courage, Julia is in a race against time to create a bridge between man and machine, connecting with the TAU and gaining her freedom, lest she suffer the fate of the six other subjects who have been there before her.
